Effective Date: May 15, 2026

At Uplifting Garage Doors (“we,” “us,” “our”), we respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or work with us, how we use that information, and the choices you have about it. We’ve tried to write this in plain English instead of legal boilerplate — the same way I’d explain it on a service call if you asked.

If anything here is unclear or you have questions, call (801) 682-7586 and Brandon will explain it directly.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Give Us Directly

When you contact us through our website, request a quote, or schedule service, you provide:

  • Your name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Property address (for service location)
  • A description of the garage door issue you need help with
  • Any other details you choose to share in the message field

Information We Collect Automatically

When you visit upliftinggarage.com, our website automatically collects:

  • Your approximate location (city/region level, derived from your IP address)
  • The type of device and browser you’re using
  • Which pages on our site you visit and how long you spend on them
  • How you arrived at our site (search engine, direct visit, referral link, etc.)
  • The date and time of your visit

This information is collected through standard web analytics tools and helps us understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to keep the site functioning properly and to gather the analytics described above. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may affect some site functionality.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for a limited set of purposes:

  • Responding to inquiries. When you fill out a contact form, request a quote, or send us a message, we use your contact information to reply, schedule service, and follow up on the work.
  • Providing service. We use your address to dispatch service, your phone number to coordinate timing and access, and the details of your inquiry to prepare the right parts and approach.
  • Sending follow-up communications. After service, we may contact you to confirm the work is holding up, request a review, or share information about routine maintenance. You can opt out of these at any time by replying to any message or calling (801) 682-7586.
  • Improving our website and service. Analytics data helps us understand which pages are useful, where visitors get stuck, and how to make the site work better for the people who land on it.
  • Legal compliance and recordkeeping. We retain service records for warranty, accounting, and tax purposes.

We don’t sell your information, rent it, or share it with third parties for their marketing purposes. Ever.

3. Who We Share Information With

We share information only with the third parties who help us run our business, and only to the extent they need it to do their jobs:

  • Google Analytics — We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous website usage statistics. Google has its own privacy practices, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Web hosting and infrastructure providers — Our website and email are hosted by service providers who store the data necessary to keep the site running.
  • Email and scheduling tools — When you send a contact form submission, that message is delivered through our email system. We may also use scheduling software to manage appointments.
  • Review platforms (when you ask) — If you choose to leave a review, the review appears on Google Business Profile or the BBB website, which are public and governed by those platforms’ policies.
  • Legal authorities — We will share information when legally required (subpoena, court order, lawful government request) or when necessary to protect our rights, safety, or the rights and safety of others.

We do not share your information with marketing companies, lead-generation services, advertisers, data brokers, or any third party that would use it for their own commercial purposes.

4. How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain information only as long as we need it:

  • Contact form submissions and quote inquiries: Retained for up to 2 years, then deleted. Active customer relationships may be retained longer to maintain service history.
  • Customer service records: Retained for 7 years for warranty, tax, and accounting purposes.
  • Analytics data: Retained per Google Analytics’ standard retention settings (currently 14 months for event-level data).
  • Email communications: Retained as long as the customer relationship is active or for our reasonable business records.

If you’d like us to delete information about you, see Section 6 below.

5. How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable steps to safeguard the information you share with us:

  • Our website uses HTTPS encryption to protect data in transit
  • We limit internal access to customer information to people who need it to do their jobs
  • We use reputable, security-vetted hosting providers and software platforms
  • We do not store credit card numbers — payments are processed through PCI-compliant processors

No system is perfectly secure. We’ve taken sensible precautions, but we can’t guarantee that information transmitted over the internet is completely secure. If a security incident affecting your information occurs, we’ll notify you as required by applicable law.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have rights regarding the information we collect about you:

  • Access — You can ask what information we have about you, and we’ll tell you.
  • Correction — If anything we have about you is wrong, let us know and we’ll fix it.
  • Deletion — You can ask us to delete your information. We’ll honor the request unless we’re required to keep it for legal, warranty, or accounting reasons. We’ll explain if any exceptions apply.
  • Opt out of communications — You can stop receiving any non-essential communications from us at any time.
  • Disable cookies — Your browser settings allow you to refuse or delete cookies.

To exercise any of these rights, call (801) 682-7586 or email us through the contact page. We’ll respond within 30 days.

7. California Residents (CCPA)

If you live in California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you
  • The right to delete the personal information we have about you, subject to certain exceptions
  • The right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (note: we don’t sell personal information, so this right is automatic for our visitors)
  • The right not to be discriminated against for exercising your CCPA rights

To exercise these rights, contact us at (801) 682-7586. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our website and services are not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at (801) 682-7586 and we’ll delete it.

9. Third-Party Links

Our website may link to third-party sites (BBB, Google Business Profile, manufacturer pages, etc.). When you follow those links, you leave our site and become subject to the privacy practices of those other sites. We don’t control or take responsibility for the privacy practices of websites we don’t operate.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, when we add new tools or when laws change. The “Effective Date” at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. If we make changes that materially affect how we handle your information, we’ll provide more prominent notice.

11. Contact

12. Relationship to Our Terms and Conditions

This Privacy Policy is one of two documents governing your use of our website and services. The other is our Terms and Conditions, which covers the rules of engagement, service estimates, warranties, payment terms, and similar topics. Both documents work together — this one focuses on information privacy, the other on the broader service relationship.
