How I Got Here
I’m Brandon McClellan, owner of Uplifting Garage Doors. I’ve lived in Utah since I was a kid — this is home — and I’ve been working on garage doors for about ten years.
I didn’t grow up planning on this. I was in finance, working at Morgan Stanley until I lost my job in 2012. Job hunting went nowhere, so I signed on with a temp agency. They placed me at a garage door distribution center. Eight months in, the company hired me on full-time. I spent three years there before I decided I wanted to be on the other side of the desk — actually working on the doors instead of moving parts for the people who did. From there I worked for a few different garage door companies around the valley.
A few of them were good shops. A couple weren’t. The bad ones had one thing in common: techs were told to upsell every job, no matter what the customer actually needed. Customers were dollar figures. Techs were quota lines. That’s not how I wanted to work, and after enough years of it, I decided I didn’t have to. I started Uplifting in 2024 to do this work the way I always thought it should be done.
How I Run This
I quote in flat rates because hourly billing rewards slow work, and I don’t believe in working the clock. I’m good at what I do, I’m quick, and I back the work with warranties — so the speed isn’t the customer’s problem, it’s the customer’s benefit. When you call, I ask enough questions to give you a price or a price range over the phone before anyone gets in a truck. If a job is complicated enough that I can’t quote it sight-unseen, I’ll come out and give you a free estimate.
When you dial (801) 682-7586, you get me. Not a dispatcher, not a callback queue, not someone reading from a script in another state. That’s true at 2 PM on a Tuesday and it’s true at 11 PM on a Saturday. If I’m under a door and can’t pick up, I call back as soon as I’m out from under it.
Most of what comes in is a broken spring, a snapped cable, a worn roller, or an opener that’s finally given up. Most of the time the door itself is fine and the fix is a part, not a whole new door. I’ll tell you when repair is the right call and I’ll tell you when it isn’t — I’m not here to sell you a door. I’m here to fix the one you have when fixing it is the right answer.

Working with Neighbors, Not Numbers
When you call Uplifting, you’re not a ticket in a queue or a commission target on someone’s whiteboard. You’re the person on the other end of my phone, and the job is whatever your door actually needs — nothing more, nothing less.

Garage Door Services I Offer
I install and repair garage doors for homes and businesses across Salt Lake County, southern Davis County and Park City. Every job comes with a tune-up. I tighten loose bolts, lube the moving parts and adjust the springs if they need it, then inspect the whole door so you know its full condition. I’m licensed and insured, and the work is warranty-backed.
