Why Salt Lake County Homeowners Call Brandon Directly

Most garage door companies you’ll find online are call centers that subcontract the actual work to whoever’s available. The technician who shows up doesn’t know what was quoted, doesn’t have the parts on the truck, and doesn’t know your door. That’s why so many repair calls turn into “we’ll have to come back tomorrow” — or worse, “you actually need a whole new door.”

I work the opposite way. I answer the phone, drive the truck, and stand behind the work. My truck is loaded with the springs, cables, rollers, sensors, and openers most Salt Lake County doors actually need — so most jobs finish on the first visit at the price I quoted you on the phone. If the spring still has life in it, I’ll tell you. I don’t replace parts that don’t need replacing.

What I Fix, Install, and Service Across Salt Lake County

Garage doors fail in predictable ways across Salt Lake County’s mixed housing stock — from 1955-1975 mid-century ramblers in Holladay and Millcreek, to 2010-2020 builder-grade hardware in Riverton, Herriman, and Bluffdale, to canyon-mouth weather exposure in Cottonwood Heights and Park City. We service all of it. Most repairs finish on the first visit because the truck is loaded with the parts these doors actually need — not whatever the warehouse had.

Common Questions Before You Call

The questions homeowners ask before they pick up the phone — answered straight up.

Yes — I’m Brandon, I own Uplifting Garage Doors, and I answer my own phone. When you call (801) 682-7586, you’re not getting a call center, a dispatch service, or a contractor’s voicemail. You’re getting me. If I’m on a job and can’t pick up right away, you’ll get a callback within minutes. Most jobs I quote and schedule directly over the phone.

We use flat pricing — quoted before any work starts. No hourly rates, no diagnostic fees, no surprise add-ons mid-job. Tell me what’s happening with your door over the phone and I can usually quote the most likely repair right then. If diagnosing requires a visit, the inspection is free and we’ll quote everything before touching the door.

Most addresses across Salt Lake County are 15-30 minutes from my West Valley City shop. Same-day service is the norm — I aim to keep at least one open slot every weekday for emergency calls. For after-hours emergencies, I can usually be on-site within 60-90 minutes anywhere in the primary service area. Tell me your ZIP code when you call and I’ll give you a real arrival window.

No. Estimates are free, even if you decide not to move forward. I don’t charge a service call fee or a diagnostic fee — if you need an in-person inspection to figure out what’s wrong, the visit is free and you only pay if you approve the work. Most callers I can quote over the phone without needing to send a truck out. One exception: after-hours, weekend, and holiday visits carry a flat $150 dispatch fee, quoted upfront before I roll.

We cover 21 cities across the Salt Lake area: most of Salt Lake County (West Valley City, Salt Lake City, Sandy, Draper, Holladay, Murray, West Jordan, South Jordan, Riverton, Herriman, and others), southern Davis County (Bountiful, Centerville, North Salt Lake, Woods Cross), plus Park City. Not sure if your address is in our area? Just call (801) 682-7586 and ask.

Yes. After-hours emergency calls roll to my personal phone — if you call at 2am, you’re getting me. Response times are slower at night (typically 60-90 minutes to get on-site rather than 30), but the line is always open. Real emergencies — a car trapped inside, a door stuck open overnight, a door bent after impact — get prioritized regardless of the hour. For after-hours, weekend, and holiday visits, there’s a flat $150 dispatch fee, and I quote that number on the phone before I head your way — never a surprise on arrival.

A few things. First, you talk directly to the owner — no dispatcher, no scripts, no upsell pressure. Second, flat pricing instead of commission-based technicians who get paid more to upsell you. Third, I do repair-first work — if your door can be fixed for the cost of a part, I’m not going to recommend a full replacement. The big chains operate on volume and aggressive sales playbooks; I operate on referrals and repeat customers, and that means treating people fairly the first time.

My truck carries the parts that match 90% of garage doors in our service area — common spring sizes, cables, rollers, sensors, opener boards, and weather seals. For specialty doors (custom carriage-house, oversized commercial, or older Wayne Dalton Torquemaster systems), I sometimes need to source a part. When that happens, I’m honest about it upfront — I’ll quote the timeline (usually next-day from local suppliers) and handle a temporary fix so your door is secure in the meantime.

What Sets Uplifting Apart from the Chains

The big chains are set up to sell new doors and route trucks. We’re set up to fix what’s broken, charge a flat price quoted before the truck rolls, and stand behind the work. Brandon answers the phone, drives to your house, and signs the workmanship guarantee. That’s the difference.
